BLUE BELT!!!!!

She did it!  We have a full blue belt in the house.  She was expecting a half blue at best but knew if she did her very, very best he wouldn't be able to give her anything less than a full blue.

 She was intense
 She was fierce
 She was on fire

Sid did 25 forms, a 5 minute horse stance with Kami on her back (she weighs the same as sid) for the last two minutes.  1 minute full splits, 50 push ups, 75 squats, punches and a range of kicks.
Here she had to round kick sigung in the head.  She just got the tip of his nose.
When she saw the full blue the smile said everything!
The fight to get her belt from Sigung was good, lots of kicks and finally it was hers.
 Proud Sigung, proud Sid.
Proud teammates
And most of all, super proud mom and dad.  Watching this little one just dive into her passion with such intensity is amazing.  3 years and she is already a blue belt and the youngest kid at the dojo to EVER be given a full blue.  What a ride Sid!!  We love you and we are strapped in and hanging on to see where you bring us next!

Moments of the month

Sid's hair is fuchsia!  only the back ponytail is dyed and it really suits her.  She discovered this new way of wearing it last weekend~

We have a ton of snakes around our place.  We found their snake nest and we see tons around the yard.  These little guys aren't quite as common as the garder snakes but they are harmless and super cute (for a snake).
 Red-Bellied snakes
 I seriously LOVE my macro!

We spent more time in Cumberland and found out dogs are welcome!  What an adventure for us and Lilly!
 She met chickens
She met a bunny and we found out that we can NEVER own a bunny
 Geese
 Very hissy and unhappy geese
These adorable piggies who LOVED Lilly, they were like dogs, all wiggles and jumping up on the fence.  They really wanted to play with her.

And ferguson and baby.  They were a bit intimidating but not as horrifying as the horses.  She hid behind us during that meet and greet.
Super cool old school separator.  Here the oats are being separated and bagged
Corn maze or is it Maize?  ;)
It was an awesome day for the entire family!  Smiles, fun and no one got eaten!

Wrapping Up Summer

August means it is time for Battlezone, the last elite competition before the worlds.
Sid gets to see her friends from around Ontario while they warm up together.
They didn't have Sid's under 25kg division so she had to fight up in the under 30 division.
Super proud of how she did, Bronze in continuous and Silver in point
Sid and Caylie decided to do their Chinese forms in the hard kata divison and did really well in such a big group of black belts.  We are so proud of those girls.

Sigung as always was there ready to coach and support her.
The kids spent a lot of time hanging out together doing kid stuff.
More hardware for the trophy room
The next day was team Canada training camp.  That kid can jump!
After forms and conditioning it was time to practice her sparring with many different opponents.
It was a great day!
This is Jagger, his nickname is now Narnia.  Bet you can't guess why.   You cannot open a cupboard without him running in!

Jagger is the best and funniest cat ever.  Loving, cuddly, calm and a great big goof!

Double rainbow, we've seen more than our share of these this summer.
Fuchsia hair.  Sid is now rockin' the pink hair.  It should slowly wash out

Mom was challenged to the ice bucket challenge by Addy and Dad was challenged by Greg.  Here are our entries and yes, we made our donations too.
