She skates!
Twice a week for the last two weeks we have been going to Frosty Blades, a learn to skate program for 2 year olds. Sidney calls it playing hockey.
For the first 10 to 15 minutes of every class Sidney likes to hold my hand but once she gets her balance and forgets she is on skates she lets go and is off skating on her own. We play lots of games and when she is engaged in a game she forgets all about the skates. She has learned how to get up when she falls and how to bend down and pick things up without falling over. Now when we watch hockey on tv she shouts out "That's like ME!!!"
We had two more classes this week but have had to miss them because the Chicken Pox have landed! I had shingles so I unfortunately gave the pox to Sid but better now than later is what I am told.

She had two really bad days and nights of itchies, fever and discomfort but we quickly discovered benydryl and Aveeno oatmeal baths for the itching and ibuprofen for the aches. Sleep at last! A well rested Sid is a happy Sid which in turn makes a happy mom and dad.
The sun has been out and the snow is finally melting. Today if Sid is up for it we will take the bicycle out and get some fresh air. Hooray, Spring IS here.
