Above Sid finds her own gravity experiments. First she tried the yellow umbrella then added the green one to see if that would slow her down. Then she tried just the green one in case the yellow one was too "roundy" and was not catching the air. Oh this was fun to watch transpire. No dogs, children or umbrellas were injured during this project.
Again from pintrest, we did some work with gravity and magnets. First we filled a glass jar with about 16 pipe cleaners cut into pieces. Then we put a big magnet on the lid and used a smaller magnet to move the pipe cleaners around. Next we got a second jar and filled it with water and paper clips and did the same thing but had to add some magnetic balls too. Lots of interesting questions came from this and opened the doors for further discussions. Plus it was really fun :)
She was not amused but Sid LOVED bathing the cats and now the kitties are back inside for the winter. Ya!
Lastly, Sid is really excited because she was told by her Karate teacher that if she works really hard on her Kata, he is going to bring her to a tournement. I believe she will only be competing in Kata's for now but has started practicing sparring with the competitive team. This weekend she also was taught Kata 1 - 4 talk about a learning curve. Whoa!
