I wanted to share a few moments captured from the last week. Sid has really been into painting and drawing lately so we have been loosely following some art curriculum and have had great success. One of the art blogs we follow gives us very specific directions on how to draw and the end result is wonderful, especially given that it is a 6 year old doing the work! See Sid's winter cardinal below and I have attached the link to the blog and the instructions we followed to create the painting.

A very thoughtful friend gave Sid a great drawing pad for her birthday and we are going to turn it into her art journal by starting with the project below
And lastly here is the project for next weeks drawing practice! Watch for Sid's version, coming soon.
Mid-week we were treated to a playdate at our friends new house. Huwyl and Sid had hours of playtime while Sid played Harry Potter and Huwyl was a pirate / soldier something. They worked out the details and they were off in their fabulous world of magic and imagination.
After lunch the kids started dancing and it was awesome to see them let loose and enjoy. Oh they were really cute too.
Speaking of cute here is little (HA!) Winnie. She is 13 weeks and huge, at least 35lbs. She is going to be a very big girl and has so far proven herself to be quite the little farm dog.
Sid's very favorite part of the day was when Huwyl took her out to the coop and they played with the chickens. She even climbed right in and collected an egg from Snow White. This kid loves, loves, loves chickens!
We were also really lucky this week to get matinee tickets to see the Nutcracker. It was really wonderful and a HUGE improvement from the modern version of Alice In Wonderland (the ballet). Sid was in awe with all the little and big kids dancing and the dancers and sets were fantastic. I can see why it becomes a yearly tradition for so many families.
And now... the Airedale segment of the blog....
It rained very hard on Tuesday so by Thursday morning when it froze, we had a lovely rink in the back acre. Check out our young girl Lilly discovering ice for the first time.
Snow is back again so out we go. Enjoy your week.

We really enjoyed your visit too, Huwyl just loved having Sid here! Wow, her art work is amazing, so precise and very beautiful. What a clever girl!
