Christmas is in the Aire

So Sid is really gearing up for Christmas this year. I think she is more excited for the holidays then I have ever seen her. Every day the dogs are made to put on Christmas plays with Maggie as Mrs. Claus and Groovy as Santa with Sid the doctor / head elf (?!).
This year she is really, really, really hoping beyond all hope that Santa will bring her the playmobile school. At 209.00 Santa isn't going to provide. She has also asked for a dollhouse for Barbies which Ken and I will give her so Santa will bring the Calico Critter Guinea Pigs. How could he resist with such a lovely picture included with the letter?

Our house is so small that I wait until about two weeks before Christmas to put up our tree. Every day since her birhtday party, Sid would ask if we could put the tree up so I finally decided on December 1st to put up our little 3ft tree. It is decorated with just airedales.... LOVELY!

Now, if you get one of these, please act surprised! This is our holiday handicraft gift for all our family. Snowglobe Snowmen! We bought two piece acrylic ornaments and painted one side blue and added sparkles. Sid did the painting and sparkling. Then using crayola Model Magic clay Sid made all the snowmen! She put the arms in and drew the faces with a sharpie. I coloured the model magic carrot noses but she put them on. I cut the scarves and put the globes together and attached the ribbon and voila!

After having so much fun making snowmen, Sid woke up the next morning and asked for more model magic. I had a second package and gave it to her. This is what she created! A snowfamily!!!!

The snowfamily!!!

That's a lot of kids!!!

Big sister snowperson holds little Baby snow person who is too small to stand up by herself (middle top)

Another big sister snowperson is lying down staring at the clouds while little kid snowsister stares down at her. (Sid's explanation!)

This will be a treasured Christmas decoration for as long as we can keep it in one piece!

This is a funny picture I took. This plastic vegetable steamer has never made it into my cupboards. It was gifted to us when Sid was really little, probably around one and she has played with it on and off for four years. Here she is using it like a camera and closing the steamer every time she yells CLICK! Rather astute!

This is Sid staying up to watch the Grey Cup. Yup that exciting.... she fell asleep with her hand in the popcorn bowl!

He couldn't squawk, he couldn't squawk. He lost his bird call (here comes the fun part). ah, yes, so he went outside, flapped around looking for, calling people to see if they had seen his bird call but then "sqawk". He heard a cow go "Squawk" and that is the end of the story. That is the end of this chapter

Our friends gave Sid Stokes Bird Guide for her birthday. Ever since Sid has been talking she loves reading through bird guides and coming up with her own stories. Here is a video of her telling a made up story she titled "the lost Bird Call"

Here are some randoms for the last few weeks....

Me playing hockey. Almost the splits!!! Not bad for a gal that can't touch her toes LOL

Christmas Furever Dales for a client :-)

Maggie Fresh out of the dryer! She knew she was about to get groomed, she had just had a bath.

"When dogs are Siblings" - Groovy dresses up by Sid.

Snow tires are on the van and snow is now on the ground. Tomorrow we are going for a hike at Mer Bleue, hopefully to see some bunnies and birds!
