The End of A Fantastic Weekend

After our tournament Saturday, the newest member of Team Ontario and I followed Greg, Shae and Addy to their gorgeous home in Southern Ontario.  It was still chilly but so much more "spring" than back home. The drive was beautiful. The girls got in the house and immediately disappeared, occasionally popping into the kitchen for a quick drink or snack then off to play, create and make potions!

 There is nothing better than cousins!  These two discover that although they live 600 km's apart, they have the exact same bunnies!  Bunny cousins!!!

The girls made their own pizza for dinner.

 Poor Cider, she just wants one little piece of pepperoni.  Pleeeeeeease!  What a good girl looking and not touching.

Tal is trying to convince us that they NEVER feed him.  Look at those eyes!  It was really nice seeing the pups, it made us miss our furkids but also gave us a good dose of crazy furry love!  Nothing like lapradors ;) to share their love!

After supper it was a bit of tv, books and bed.  The girls wanted to sleep together but Sid wanted to sleep with me.  The excitement and exhaustion of the day and the trip was beginning to catch up with our little one.  She really wanted some mom cuddles so we came up with a great plan to have Addy, Sid and I sleep together.  It was soooo awesome!  Two littles, one on either side and me in the middle.  The best snuggly sleep ever.

 The next morning was started with fantastic french toast then a dash outside to play on the play park Sid has been eyeing at Costco for the last year.  She was so excited to see that Addy had "THE" play park.  I took tons of pictures to later discover they weren't recorded on my SD card because I had taken one of the two cards out.  I got a few cute shots after but sadly missed Addy on her cool little ATV. 

 After a good play and some fresh air, and a mad search for my keys (oops) we loaded up, were giving a wonderful picnic lunch and left for Granny and Grandpa's.  Only a 5.5 hr drive this time. 

We were making good time so we decided to stop at the Big Apple. They usually have the cutest little bunnies all over the place but it was still a bit too early for leverettes / kits.  Baby hares are called leverettes and baby rabbits are called kits, I only add this because this was recently the subject of some school research we did.

 Once at Granny and Grandpa's we relaxed for a bit then went for a nice walk in the woods.

We have never seen the creek so full and so fast.  Had to take some pictures!

Ok, not really a meteor but it is a good story ;)  The barn has been threatening collapse for a few years but finally this winter did the older part in.  Luckily they had moved most of the stuff out of it, including my claw foot tub :) After our walk and our successful search for Granny's lost pedometer, we had some great food, some laughs and some stories then it was bed.  The next day was a touch warmer and perfect for some product shots for the shop.  I can't imagine a more beautiful and diverse location.

 It wasn't really warm out but Sid is a trooper.  I have to add that I do pay her for her modeling work.  The money she makes goes into her bank.  After this shoot she took her money and paid for half of her new sparring gloves. 

 This is the Ava dress.  Sid is actually modeling a 3T, so it is a tad short but it does the trick.

 Here is a shot that reminds me of what being a kid is all about.  Sunshine, boots and running down a hill!

After the photo shoot it was lunch and time to get back on the road so we could be in Ottawa before rush hour.  Now with two lanes from Carleton Place, it is much quicker to go through the city to our rural east home.  The drive was smooth and we were home in time to unpack, have dinner and soak in the multiple memories of a crazy busy yet relaxed weekend.  Thank you my family for hosting us, feeding us and for making our time together so wonderful.  Can't wait to see you all again soon!
