I gotta Nikon Camera... I love to take Photographs - Paul Simon, Kodachrome

This week I have been getting great help from a very good photographer friend (THANKS FRANCINE!!!) so I can fine tune some of my picture taking. Here are few shots I capture over the last few days and be sure to check out Francine's art work seen here on Red Bubble http://www.redbubble.com/people/digitallystill She is very, very talented.

This is a picture of our cat Nookie in a bag right after I gave her some cat nip. Nice Kitty... just try and pet her, you'll lose a hand!

Magda's puppy Zuni showing her intense devotion to her mom.

Zuni demonstrating her fantastic recall!

Zuni with the zooomies. This was a fun shot to capture, I am really pleased with how it turned out!

Sid and her three friends on our freecycled toboggan. Ya, I am still psyched about that!

Airedale sandwich.

Crazy Mags

Now, I have to add some AWESOME shots that Magda took. Her puppy Zuni came over and met Groovy and Maggie for the first time. They all got along so well we can already see that Groovy and Zuni are going to be very, very good friends! Maggie was very well behaved and treated her guest with extreme kindness, she has always loved the girls much more than boys.

C'mon, Let's Play!

Well my first needle felting workshop is set to go for April 2nd 10 - 2 at Wabi-Sabi. I am also volunteering to do a needle felting workshop to support Ottawa Valley chapter of CPAW (Canadian Parks and Wilderness Society) http://www.cpaws-ov-vo.org/?p=410#more-410 sometime in early March. The CPAW event is to raise money and awareness for protecting green spaces in the Ottawa Valley. I am going to teach people how to needle felt small animals and then all our creations will be brought together for a window display. Some items will also be auctioned off to benefit CPAW. This is going to be so fun!

Let it Snow!

It was a beautiful snowy day and perfect for playing outside. We spent almost 2 hours in the backyard this afternoon making snowmen, snow angels and catching snowflakes. It is so fun being able to be a kid all over again!

Despite the fact that it is Mom's very favorite colour, Sidney eyes just glow in the right shade of purple, I can't believe our luck! Poor Ken all he needs is more purple in his life :0)

This morning we awoke to another photo opportunity. It is a good thing I keep my camera on the dock all charged and ready to go. Sidney really wanted to see how much snow had come down overnight and so I opened the curtains shortly after 6:00 a.m. Maggie was still enjoying a nice sleep and was not about to move unless food was involved. I caught this picture and I am calling it Chairedale!

Today was pajama party day at school and Sid didn't seem to mind wearing her jammies all day. I am sure it is what contributed to her spontaneous afternoon nap on the couch. Perhaps every day should be pajama day? Tomorrow is Sid's big show at gymnastics, another great day for pictures and daddy will be there too. Here is a picture of Sid and Dad after Sid's music recital.

A Great Monday

This week is starting off really well. Yesterday we brought Gitan to his new home and he moved in with his beagle brother and two cats. Our house has been so calm today. Sidney isn't hitting the dogs or yelling "GITAN NO!!!" It was indeed time for him to find his forever family and they are so happy to have him!

We cuddled and had free play all morning and went off to our music class. She had lots of fun and the teacher commented on how funny she was while doing the craft. Sidney really likes making people laugh and I am glad other people are starting to see her sense of humor.

It was so beautiful out we played in the backyard for most of the afternoon. We laughed so hard catching grasshoppers and putting them on Groovy's head. Sidney was really brave and held one for a few minutes until it jumped away.

Sid asked if she could try the camera. I put the strap around her neck and set it so she had to look through the view finder to take pictures. Was I ever surprised to discover she is a budding photographer! Here is one of my favorite pictures she took today.

At bedtime we write in Sidney's journal and talk about what we did during the day. I was putting her laundry away and she had her back turned and was doodling in her journal, or so I thought. I had the hardest time keeping a straight face when she stood beside me and I looked over and saw Sidney's cheeks streaked with pen. I just looked at her and said NOTHING thinking I was going to burst out laughing and she stood there for about 10 seconds and then wrapped both arms around my neck and gave me a huge hug. While still biting my tongue I said "that was nice, why did I get such a great hug" Sidney answered "Cause you're nice mom!" Oh the little monkey knew she could have been in big trouble for coloring all over her face but we both laughed and cuddled and went and washed it off. She is so clever!!!!
