We found a new and simply amazing store in town. Some moms at Karate told me about it. It is called... The Second Hand Store. Nothing fancy, and the name states exactly what it is. A huge depot to drop stuff off and buy stuff for very, very little. There is stuff everywhere, no room to move or breathe and deals in every corner.
One of our willows is now big and strong enough to hold this little hammock swing we picked up.
Can you see the price on the wood frame? That's right, it was a dollar! I got brand new Wetskin black rain pants - 2.00. Sid got a new Groovy Girl doll for 1.00! We got the material for Sid's Halloween costume for 2.00!!! I spent 6.00 and we walked out of there with rain pants, a huge heavy cotton sheet, the swing and a groovy girl. And now I also have a new place to donate our old things. I am so excited, can you tell?
We have been invited to a lot of birthdays the past several months, however, this was the first all boy except Sid party we had been to. 16 little 7 year old boys and Sid. That was a new experience! Whoa a pack of 7 year old boys is almost a sure America's Funniest Video entry. At one point they had a battery powered 4 wheeler and they attached a bungee cord to the back axle then attached the other end of the bungee to a skateboard. Sid was standing next to me watching this group of about 6 boys getting hyped up about this skateboard / 4 wheeler creation and she says "Mom, this is going to end badly." It is moments like this that I am truly thankful we had a little girl :) Johnny's Dad is just a big kid too, he had fun revving the boys up with his 4 wheeler stunts.
When 2 Wheels are Better than 4!
The party centred around 4 wheeler fun! Below Johnny takes Sid for a tour.
And the last new thing for us was Sid playing.....
Street Hockey!!!!!
She watched for most of the afternoon but when a bunch of kids left she marched over, strapped on the pads and got right into it. I love how versatile she is. She isn't afraid to follow her heart and try new things.
So lots of firsts to add to the list, it was a great week!
