2 Stroke and Sun Stroke!

Oh wow it has been warm and finally feeling like summer!  Pool is up to 87 degrees, the dogs are swimming (except Maggie who would not lower herself to that level) and the cats are sacked out in shady spots enjoying the perfect napping weather.

Honestly I though the cat had died of sun stroke but he was just having a super deep sleep on the deck.
This is the last picture of our baby Song Sparrows. They only stay in the nest 9 - 12 days so they have now moved on somewhere.  Not sure where Mamma has them stashed but they are around here somewhere.  Mom keeps flying to the door to take moths and has flown in the house two more times!
Killdeer's are back and calling their haunting killdeer sound while they forage in the back part our yard.  Kenny made a race track for Sid by cutting the grass really short and the killdeer like to hunt grubs back there.

Why do we have a race track you ask?  Well Kenny and Sid overhauled a 2 stroke quad and got it up and running for Sid.  This is a mini-quad and it goes stupid fast. It has a governor on the throttle so Sid can't get up to break neck speeds yet.  Ken bought it for her about 3 years ago but there was no way she was ready for it.  Now she is ready and there is no stopping her!
First touch of the throttle and she is a bit apprehensive after her mother put the fear of death into her.
That's the Sid I know, intense and focused.  She started getting the hang of it right away.
OH YA!  This is fun!  We could hear shouts of "Woooooo HOOOOOO!" as she bombed around the race track.
Smiling eyes.

The mini-quad is actually for 14 yrs and up.  Ken and I have also been having a bit of fun tearing around the track :)  LOVE Daddy's hair.

It rained and we had to put the quad away but the next morning the track was perfectly fun and muddy!

 Spin those tires
 Want a hug mom??
This kid is hooked, she loves, loves, loves riding.
How much does she love it?
Then a hose down and a quick swim.  She is swimming like crazy now!
Our baby beluga in the buff!!!!

We love our pool time and are so thankful the weather is cooperating now!

This last pic I had to add because I really like the emotions it stirs up.  I entered it in a monthly photo contest for a Sepia themed pic and it got posted :)

Off to pottery camp this week.  Be back soon!
