Of Geese and Classic Literature!

Everyone including my hubby has reported seeing geese. Usually they fly over our place so I am shocked I haven't heard them yet. Today we watched Fly Away Home in preparation of our first Goose spotting. This is the movie about the 13 year old who raises Canadian geese and helps them migrate by teaching them to fly with her ultralight. Sid really loved this movie. We will watch it a few more times and do some studying up on geese until we finally see one of our own!!!!

Yesterday on our quest for spring, we spent almost 3 hours in the woods with some h.s. friends and it was so beautiful! Sunny, warm and great fun for the kids and moms alike!

We are back in the woods tomorrow for another day of exploring and play. Can't wait!

Lately while at home we have been working on devouring as many classics as we can with the promise of Geronimo Stilton thrown in at bed time for good measure. So far we have worked our way through little house in the big woods and will do Little House on the Prairie next. We have watched The Secret Garden and Pipi Longstockings which Sid adored. A friend of mine from Australia is currently living in the UK and she sent me some links to the BBC's radio plays for kids. We listened to Ballet Shoes and Wind in the Willows and now we are working our way through Anne of Green Gables.
